Physical Therapy is a type of treatment you may need when health problems make it hard to move around and do everyday tasks. It helps you move better and may relieve pain. It also helps improve or restore your physical function and improve your fitness level.

Fysio Huis provides services that develop, maintain and restore your maximum movement capacity and functional ability. Fysio Huis helps people at any stage of life, when movement and function are threatened by ageing, injury, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors. Fysio Huis aim’s to help you maximise your quality of life, looking at physical, psychological, emotional and social wellbeing as a whole.

Your first visit will include the initial evaluation and then a treatment. You will be instructed on therapeutic exercises, learn how to manage and care for your symptoms, receive manual therapy if necessary, and may be treated with some type of therapeutic modalities. And of course you will be given a specific home program to continue your treatment actively.

How can you know that physical therapy can help you?
At Fysio Huis we can help anyone who suffers from musculoskeletal injuries, recovering from surgeries or other difficulties such as balance/walking problems, or neurological problems such as stroke and acquired brain injuries. Even people recovering from non-orthopedic surgeries (internal problems, cancer) can benefit from physical therapy by regaining strength and endurance. The realm of physical therapy is huge and encompasses the whole body and its functioning. To learn how PT can specifically help your condition, make an appointment with one of our specialists, and you don’t even need a referral.

Manual Therapy

A manual therapist has extra expertise in the field of movement and joints, especially the spine. In manual therapy, promoting freedom of movement is central; professional techniques are used to influence the muscles, ligaments and joints.

At Fysio Huis, the therapists are committed to applying the most effective manual techniques that often provide immediate relief. By creating space between the joints, it also becomes easier to stretch the muscles or perform exercises, for example. Not only the joints, but also the nerves and the surrounding tissues can be treated. Our manual therapists help you by finding a combination of different therapies that is right for you.

During the first appointment, an extensive analysis will be made of your complaints and the history. Manual therapy is based on the idea that all parts of the body work together to function and when one part is restricted the rest of the body will respond in the form of pain or stiffness.

An investigation is necessary to determine the specific cause of the complaints. You can also visit without a referral from your GP, then we will determine during the first appointment through a screening whether manual therapy is suitable for you.

Manual therapy is available for complaints of the neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee or ankle, but manual therapy can also be beneficial for neurological problems, for example.
If you want to know if manual therapy can help with your specific problems, please contact us or make an appointment with one of our therapists. If you have additional insurance for physiotherapy, a maximum of 9 treatments are reimbursed for manual therapy.
